Is there a Correlation Between Early Development and Epileptic Conditions ?
Some of the prenatal injuries that the mother might go through is living in an unhealthy environment, like in a home in which drugs are consumed. Also surrounded by someone that smokes constantly or even growing that belly in a very stressful environment that constantly has her worrying about something new each time. These are just a few but there could be a lot more out there that could contribute to prenatal injury that might possibly be the cause for the epilepsy to develop in the individual later on in their life. The more the mother is exposed, the harder it will be for the mother while she is pregnant to produce some nutrients for example that are extremely important for the baby to develop healthily and without any illness or risks. This is why when the belly is growing, the doctors are constantly monitoring the mother as well to make sure that she is not doing too much or too little that could either cause her maternal, fetal or placental disease. This is why they send them to rest and avoid hectic environments so that they don’t get any cough or cold that other people might pass on to the mother. All events prior to the arrival of the baby could really affect in which the baby is developing and in the way all the nutrients necessary are provided. When thinking of epilepsy, it is for example when short circuits occur in the streets. There was so much energy being utilized that everything just stopped working for a few moments, similar to what happens for an epileptic episode to occur. The energy is at such high voltage and once two high voltage crashes, the body enters an epileptic episode. There is so much energy that got together and created a short circuit.
In the first article “Cognitive problems related to epilepsy syndromes, especially malignant epilepsies” K. Van Rijckevorsel discusses a process that occurs during development of neurocognitive impairment which is something commonly found in patients that experience epileptic conditions. Depending whether the events happen in the first or second half of the pregnancy could possibly also determine the type of epilepsy the individual might develop later on because in every stage of pregnancy there is something new developing that could start malfunctioning and somehow affecting the baby to then cause a later on epilepsy. Depending on which time this is, it could happen during the brain development of the baby, from embryonic through perinatal periods will either affect the gray or white matter structures to then start with a seizure and move on to the next step with a type of epilepsy.
During pregnancies doctors constantly advise mothers to practice yoga because it is a great way for them to stay in touch with their body. This also helps them to feel less stressed and for the baby as well so that the development of the baby is not paused or stopped for the baby feeling that tension. In the article “The Behavioral Model development of pregnant women in accordance with pregnancy treatment lifestyle” discusses great points and emphasizes how an unhealthy “lifestyle would create a poor quality life prone to life threatening diseases.” Any type of tension that the mother is exposed to, the baby will automatically feel it and start to move a lot and get annoyed. Within this time period a critical stage could be paused and altered because there is an irregular and very hectic environment for the mother who is supposed to be in a constant peaceful and relaxing environment.
There are different studies out there that assure a correlation between prenatal injuries and epilepsy. These types of events have been studied and not only are the cause of epilepsy later on to the individuals but the cause of several other illnesses. In the article “The Use of Continuous Foetal Monitoring Technologies That Enable Mobility in Labour for Women with Complex Pregnancies: A Survey of Australian and New Zealand Hospitals” they explain how the “Continuous foetal monitoring technologies that enable mobility in labour for women with complex pregnancies.” This is why nowadays they are monitoring the mothers so often and the babies as well to ensure that they don’t go through difficult events that may cause them paused their baby development and for the correlation that there is to not continue for other future generations.
Early development could be one of the most critical times for how many risks the baby could be exposed to later on in their life. Starting off with how often they’re been monitored. Then advising pregnant women on stuff to practice for their own benefit. Lastly, finding out whether they were really taking care of their baby to be born healthy or whether they experienced some type of difficult times, an unhealthy environment in which the baby could’ve been interrupted in their most important stage of development. There is a correlation between pregnant injuries and epileptic conditions later on in their life. This is because during the stage of development focusing more on the brain development stage, the process that gets interrupted could be malfunctions that can cause short circuits later on and pass from seizures into a type epilepsy
